BEGIN:VCALENDAR VERSION:2.0 PRODID:-/-/EN BEGIN:VEVENT SUMMARY:GMG Visit to Bressingham Gardens UID:80 DESCRIPTION:We have an exciting visit lined up on Wednesday, 6 September to Bressingham Gardens in Diss, Norfolk. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the creation of the gardens at Foggy Bottom by Adrian Bloom, and this is a unique opportunity to see behind the scenes with the garden's creator.\n\nOur visit will start at 10.30am with coffee on arrival. This will be followed by a tour of the gardens led by Adrian, followed by a light lunch and free time to explore the gardens in the afternoon.\n\n \n\nThe gardens at Bressingham cover 17 acres with 8,000 species and varieties of plants making this a special place to get ideas and inspiration.\n\nThe 6-acre Dell Garden was created in 1953 by Alan Bloom and quickly became famous for its island beds of unique perennials. It is now maintained by son-in-law and Curator, Jamie Blake.\n\n \n\n \n\nIn 1967, Alan’s son Adrian  began a completely different garden nearby, Foggy Bottom, which became equally renowned for its year-round interest and innovative use of plants. In 2000, Adrian created Adrian’s Wood, which uses plants of almost exclusively North American origin to create dramatic scenes of autumn colour.\n\nThere are restrictions on photography for this trip. If you wish to take photographs for publication, then please contact Adrian Bloom or call 01379 687400 to arrange permission in advance.\n\n \n\nThis visit is free to GMG members, with a £10 charge for non-members.\n\nIf you are coming by train, the nearest station is Diss, approximately 3 miles away.\n\nPlease book your place as soon as possible by contacting Kate at GMG Admin.\n\n DTSTART:20170906T125100Z DTEND:20170906T125100Z LOCATION:Bressingham Gardens - Low Road, Bressingham, Norfolk IP22 2AA END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
