DESCRIPTION:We are very pleased to announce that on Friday, 12 May, we have a GMG Visit to Rosemary Alexander's wonderful garden at Sand Hill Farm House.\n\nRosemary is the principal of the English Gardening School and a founder member of the Society of Garden Designers and has lived at Rogate, near Petersfield on the Hampshire/Sussex border since 2001. Her one acre garden reflects all her design skill and love of plants. Both the front and rear gardens are broken up into a series of rooms with highlights including a small kitchen garden, a woodland area with a new stumpery, a double rose border, a grasses border and a red flower border.\n\nRosemary will welcome us to the garden for tea and cake at 10.30am and then give us a tour. She planted thousands of bulbs last winter so the garden should be looking particularly spectacular in mid May. Our visit will finish by 12.30; for those who want to stay on in the area for lunch, there are pubs and tearooms nearby. If you want to fit in another garden visit on the day, the National Trust's lovely 'secret' garden at Woolbeding is about 15 minutes away (only open Thursdays and Fridays, and prebooking essential).\n\n \n\nIf you are coming by train from London, the nearest station is Petersfield, which is about 15 minutes away by taxi. \n\nThis visit is free to GMG members (£15 charge for non-members) and there are no restrictions on photography as long as Rosemary and the garden are credited.\n\nThere are a few places left on this visit, so if you would like to come, please contact GMG Admin as soon as possible.\n\n\n\n \n\n
