Biography

An Arts graduate and retired A-Level Classics teacher, I write a popular weekly gardening blog with my two sisters at http;//the3growbags.com/ . I have also several articles published in gardening magazines including Garden Answers. I am lucky enough to have two gardens, one in Eastbourne, East Sussex and the other in western Normandy. I have a particular interest in perennials, roses and colour management in a garden. I gained the RHS Level 2 cert in horticulture in 2000. In 2020, I ran a series of daily blogs to help first-time vegetable growers with getting started on food-growing, during the first months of the pandemic. We have since turned these articles into a book.

Additional Interests

I open my courtyard garden in Eastbourne every summer for the NGS, and have done so for 22 years, since winning the Daily Mail Garden of the Year. I spend summers at our house in Normandy manoirlehot. com , which we have owned since 2006. I have created and developed a large garden there which is now open every weekend through the summer months for the region's gardening association CotentinCoteJardins and for the Normandy tourist board.
