Biography

Swapping microchips for microorganisms, after voluntary redundancy from the tech sector in 2022, I retrained in garden design and sat my RHS Level 2 qualifications. I juggled my studies with building my debut show garden in the LCGD Countryside Border Competition at the Belvoir Castle Flower and Garden Show in July 2023. Afterwards, I set up my design practice and since August 2023, I’ve been a regular gardening columnist for Velvet Magazine, Regional Magazine of the Year at the National Newspaper Awards 2024. I’m inspired by gardeners and writers whose creativity and passion for their craft is contagious and hope that I too, can instil the same curiosity and enthusiasm in my readers. As a researcher for the Suffolk Gardens Trust, member of the CIHort and Garden Communicators International, I’m continually learning and actively supporting the wider horticultural community.

Additional Interests

I have a keen interest in garden history and love finding new gardens to visit and photograph to study how they change across the seasons. In addition to all things gardening-related, I enjoy coaching and mentoring young people to achieve their full potential through helping them to develop their skills in communication, self-confidence and resilience.
