Biography

I'm a freelance gardening writer, copywriter, editor and speaker. My latest book 'Secret Gardens of Somerset' (Frances Lincoln 2020), explores some of the county's most beautiful and fascinating gardens. I offer several illustrated talks and enjoy sharing my passion for gardens and garden history with audiences. My back list includes: 'The London Garden Book A-Z' (finalist GMG Awards), 'The Remarkable Case of Dr Ward & other Amazing Gardening Innovations' (Laurence King, 2018). Freelance clients include Orion Books, Metro Publications, Mudwalls Farm, Ashridge Trees and I have also written online content for Homes & Gardens, The English Home, The City Planter, and The Chelsea Fringe. I hold the RHS General Certificate, and worked for several years as a gardener for private clients. I am also a member of the Visual Arts and Architecture section of The Critics' Circle.

Additional Interests

I enjoy pottering in my garden and on my allotment, swimming in lidos around the country and the seemingly never-ending quest to bake the perfect sourdough loaf.
