Biography

Shereen Chung-Blake is the Future Gardeners Program Coordinator at Bankside Open Spaces Trust and Garden Founder and Manager of Camberwell Triangle Community Garden and Allotment. A PGCE qualified teacher and senior leader in local education, Shereen transitioned into the Horticulture Industry after founding a community garden and allotment on her estate to empower the local community to grow their own food. This passion led to qualifications in Practical Horticulture, Environment Conservation and Sustainability. Combining her skills as a Sky Arts RSL shortlist writer and community gardener, Shereen believes in community engagement and empowerment through authentic communication, education, art and horticulture.

Additional Interests

Shereen is passionate about food autonomy and the opportunity it presents to address social inequalities in the Horticulture Sector and wider society. Shereen has lived in Washington DC, Porto - Portugal, Lagos - Nigeria and Amman Jordan but her home will always by Queen's Road, Peckham!
