Biography

I write a weekly gardening column and action plan for the Daily Mail on Saturday and the Gardener's Diary for The Lady magazine. I have a diploma in garden design from the English Gardening School, where I studied under Rosemary Alexander and an RHS Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of Horticulture from Plumpton College in East Sussex. I have been a journalist for more than 20 years and worked on staff for The Independent, The Guardian and Private Eye before going freelance in 2009.

Additional Interests

As well as gardening, I enjoy running in the beautiful South Downs where I live, yoga and creative writing.
