Biography

Passionate gardener, plantaholic and garden writer. I have written numerous commissioned articles for The English Garden magazine including plant focus, Top Ten and garden features, and a magazine for a garden centre. I am a Plant Heritage Plant Guardian and open my garden for the National Garden Scheme. I love growing and trialling plants that are a little less than ordinary, and have first-hand knowledge of growing most of the plants that I write about. I regularly give talks to gardening clubs, have reviewed gardens, garden shows and books for an international garden website, and have also appeared on Japanese TV. After six years as volunteer Publicity Officer for Hertfordshire National Garden Scheme, I am now an assistant county organiser, supporting others to open their garden.

Additional Interests

Member of the Hardy Plant Society, HPS Pulmonaria group, Alpine Garden Society and Plant Heritage.
