Biography

As a trained primary school teacher, sharing my love of what I've learnt through gardening seems natural to me. Having left teaching due to Long Covid, I know the power of the natural world on our physical and mental health. Sharing this through sowing seeds and what I'm doing on social media has been part of my recovery! The garden community is a wonderful thing to be a part of. As I renavigate a new life, I've started to 'dip my spade' into writing about this passion and new found respect for our need to connect with the natural world. My main passion is growing cut flowers from seed and helping others do the same. I now create content for brands either in my Instagram @floraldaysintheshires or for the brands themselves.

Additional Interests

I love to read and have done since a young age. My earliest memories are of lying in the long grass with my teddies, reading. Being surrounded by nature is very important to me and I am happiest in the woods with my dog, Dottie noticing the fading light or changing leaves. My long term illness has made me re-evaluate my life and I now find happiness in the small moments of joy rather than pounding the treadmill at full speed.
