Biography

I write about gardening, plants, food, wildlife and people. I've been a professional writer for 30 years and am an all-rounder with an eye for accuracy, originality and deadlines. I have a keen nose for a story and put it to good use in finding original features, many of which are about fascinating people with lots of great advice to pass on. I have written for Amateur Gardening, The English Garden, Country Homes and Interiors, Period Living, Inside Horticulture (HTA), British Farmer & Grower (NFU) and Cotswold Life, I edited Herefordshire & Monmouthshire Living for four years, alongside my freelance garden writing work.

Additional Interests

I have a wildlife-friendly allotment on which I grow fruit and vegetables and try out different time-saving techniques for busy gardeners. I play the violin and am a member of Cranham Village Orchestra. I' organise of Bisley Fete, which is run alongside a traditional village flower show. I'm a champion Victoria sandwich baker and jam maker I'm especially interested in the role gardening plays in child development, therapy for people living with dementia, health and wellbeing, and encouraging wildlife.
