Biography

I am a qualified and experienced journalist and also a former professional gardener. I work as a Gardening Expert and Content Editor for Homes & Gardens, writing practical advice-driven articles on all facets of gardening and growing fruit and vegetables. I have a blog called Perennial Nerd and have written how-to expert guides on growing edibles for various websites, including Plantura magazine, Fruitnveggie.com, Lovely Greens, and Thompson and Morgan. I hold NCTJ qualifications and have vast experience in writing content for websites and print publications across many subject areas. I am a trained gardener with a Level 3 Horticulture qualification and seven years of practical experience, including working for the National Trust at Hidcote Manor Garden and Hanbury Hall. I also was a specialist Kitchen Gardener, growing vegetables, fruit, and herbs in the Walled Garden of Netherby Hall, Cumbria, for chefs at a local Michelin-starred restaurant.
