Biography

Writer: consumer magazines; author; editor: books; photographer; photographic library; lecturer. Hands-on gardener and Gold medal winning designer and British Association of Landscape Industry award winner with 30 years experience providing words and pictures on many topics including outstanding gardens, kitchen gardens, plant associations, container ideas, bulbs and step-by-step DIY projects. My picture library includes a comprehensive selection of container and edible-plant images available in a wide range of styles and settings. I have established a unique niche in the gardening world, growing and constructing, arranging and photographing living pictures for gardeners to copy. Former Garden Writer of the Year and Professional Garden Photographer (PGP) member.

Cricket coaching, guitars and keyboards, renovating period properties, art and architecture, cats and hens, Oxford and Cambridge, maintaining and restoring Ancient Woodlands, woodland crafts and all aspects of using wood as fuel.
