We are delighted to tell you that on Tuesday, 13th July there will be a Guild visit to the garden of Tom and Sue Stuart-Smith, and to the adjacent garden of Kate Stuart-Smith, at Bedmond in Hertfordshire.
Our visit will start at 1.30 at Tom and Sue's garden, The Barn. Developed since 1987 on a gravelly hilltop, it has two contrasting areas, a courtyard and a more open area which is planted with a wide range of drought-tolerant herbaceous perennials and shrubs. The garden is surrounded by five acres of wild flower meadows. Kate's garden at Serge Hill House has wonderful views, a walled vegetable garden with a large greenhouse, roses, shrubs and perennials, leading to a long mixed border.

These two gardens are rarely open to the public so, we are very privileged to be allowed to visit. This visit is free to Guild members although there will be a collection box for the Sunnyside Rural Trust, which offers training and work experience for vulnerable people. The Guild will also be making a donation to the charity at the request of Sue Stuart-Smith. Kate will be offering tea and cake for us at £5 a head - you'll need to pre-book this nearer the time. There will be ample parking as a field is being set aside for us to park in.
There are no restrictions on photography if it is solely for use on social media or for your own records. However please do not offer photographs you take on the day to any publications without first checking with Tom's office; we can provide the contact details.

As this visit is likely to be extremely popular, it may not be possible for Guild members to bring a guest. You can indicate that you would like to bring a guest but this can't be guaranteed.
