GMG visit to Helmingham Hall in Suffolk

Download Event to Calendar

GMG visit to Helmingham Hall in Suffolk on Monday, 28th June.

This beautiful estate has been in the Tollemache family for over 500 years and the moated Hall, the parkland (full of red deer) and the garden are a magnificent sight. The garden has a classic parterre, a walled kitchen garden, a herb and knot garden and a famous rose garden, which should be at its peak at the time of our visit. The garden has been heavily influenced by Lady Tollemache (the garden designer Xa Tollemache) who will be on hand to talk about the garden and show us round. The garden is closed to the public on the day we visit so we will have it to ourselves. The Hall will not be open.

Our visit will start at 10am, with a welcome cup of tea or coffee, and the garden tour begins at 10.30. There is no lunch provided but you are free to bring a packed lunch to eat in the garden as the tearoom will be closed. We are welcome to stay and explore the garden at our leisure until 3.30pm. There are no restrictions on photography and the visit is free to members. As numbers are limited, it may not be possible to bring a guest. For more details about Helmingham, please visit www.helmingham.com.
