GMG Visit to Robin Middleton's Salvia Garden

Download Event to Calendar

If you are a salvia enthusiast, you won't want to miss this GMG visit to Robin Middleton's garden. Although Robin isn't a trained botanist, he is world renowned as a salvia expert. He grows more than 100 varieties in his garden. This isn't open to the public, but he and his partner, Peter Vidgeon (who has a particularly nice lilac-pink salvia named after him), will be welcoming us to the garden at a time when it should be at its peak.

We will get a guided tour of the collection from Robin, who will let us into some of the secrets of propagating salvias and how to overwinter them, as well as recommending the best varieties.

There will be tea and cake on offer, and Robin has promised there will be unusual salvia plants and seeds for sale.

The event starts at 10.30am and should finish by 12.30pm. Robin lives very close to Bagshot railway station, and the journey time by train from London is about 1hr 10mins, with a change at Ascot Station.

Places are limited, so if you would like to come, please contact GMG Admin as soon as possible.

The visit is free to GMG members, non-members are asked to make a donation on the day to Cancer Research UK.

Robin's website is a great source of ideas and inspiration on salvias.
